Call for Presenters NPW 2026
The National Substance use Prevention Week (NPW) annual Prevention summit is the nation’s leading drug demand reduction summit. We are looking for presenters to share their how-to; best practices, case studies and lessons learned on timely and relevant topics of importance to substance use prevention and recovery.

Objectives of the NPW
- To raise awareness about the importance of prevention of alcohol and substance use and misuse of prescription medicines;
- To foster partnerships and collaborations between state and non-state agencies in promoting prevention strategies;
- To celebrate people and community stories of prevention;
- To promote and disseminate evidence-based resources and publications.
Types of Sessions
- Presentation: Technical content delivered by one or two speakers with key tips, solutions and takeaways.
- Panel: A discussion of a current trend or technology development from different perspectives.
- Break-aways: A combination of presented content followed by an activity facilitated by the content leader, where attendees discuss in small group discussions and/or participate in Q&A facilitated by the presenter, so that attendees can apply and share what they have learned.
Topics We're Looking for in 2026
While we encourage all interested presenters to submit proposals on any topic(s) relevant to drug demand reduction, the NPW committee have identified the following as key settings of interest:
- Family
- School
- Workplace
- Community
- Recovery
Proposal and Policy Guidelines
We invite those interested in presenting at our 2026 NPW Summit to submit a proposal for review by our Conference Planning Committee. Speaker proposals are evaluated objectively with emphasis on the following criteria (listed in order of significance):
- The degree to which the proposed session meets the conference/program objectives
- Desirability of the topic
- Speaker's presentation skills and experience

Submission Deadline is Jan 23, 2026
We will consider no more than one proposal from each speaker.
Length of Presentation
Presentations are in person for 30 minutes
Biographical Information
Provide a brief description of your qualifications that relate to the presentation topic. At a minimum, please include:
- Name
- Education
- Current position
- Certifications and designations
- Contact information (preferred phone number and e-mail)
Short Description of Your Session
Provide a brief description of the presentation.
Clearly describe what the session will cover and highlight the learning activities an attendee can expect. Maximum length is 600 words.
Proposal Acceptance.
NACADA NPW planning committee has the sole authority and responsibility for selecting the topics and content of presentations it delivers.
We will email notification of acceptance by January 30, 2026.
Honoraria
Our speakers receive a certificate of presentation in recognition of their expertise and contribution during the conference. Speakers are expected to meet their own travel, lodging and meal expenses.
