Rev. Dr. Stephen Kiptoem Mairori is an experienced Board level leader with a wealth of experience in leadership, conflict resolution, and corporate governance, having spent over twenty years in various roles within management at the local and international levels.
He was awarded an Honorary Doctor of Ministry by Georgia Central University, USA, and a Masters of Divinity by Frensco Pacific Seminary, CA, USA, as well as a Bachelor of Arts from the Global University, USA. He has also undertaken and participated in numerous leadership courses and seminars across the world.
In his current role, he is a Senior Minister at the Africa Inland Church, Milimani, and also serves at the International Christian Ministries, Kenya. In addition, he is the Regional Coordinator at the Global Leadership Network, USA, and a Regional Director at the Walk Thru the Bible, USA amongst other management positions in Kenya and USA.
He has also served previously as a Board Member at NACADA where he was the Chair of the Audit, Finance, and Human Resource committees respectively. He was a Board Member at the Kenya Industrial Research and Development Institute (KIRDI) where he also served as the Chair of Human Resource and Audit Committees and a Board Member at the Kenya Institute of Public Policy, Research and Analysis (KIPPRA) amongst other positions within state and non-state agencies.
Ann Mathu is Author of the Book titled Sober Again and is also the founder of Sober Again Outreach Programme (A community Based Organization that campaigns against alcohol and drug abuse).
She is a Recovery Coach at the Dove Mental Hospital and has previously worked at NACADA.
A passionate recovery coach, Ann Mathu reaches out to persons living with Substance Use Disorders and gives assistance to support long-term recovery. She is a leader, mentor, partner, therapist, spiritual guide and cheerleader.
She works with clients after they leave rehabilitation services in order to reinforce and encourage a healthy lifestyle. She also works with families, helping everyone cope with changes that accompany substance use disorder.
Dr. Omerikwa has over 23 years of experience in Public Service.
Before joining NACADA, he worked for the World Bank as a Technical Consultant after serving as the CEO/Managing Trustee of the National Social Security Fund between 2019- 2022.
He holds a Doctorate Degree from the University of Georgia, a Specialist Advanced Degree in Workforce Development and Education and a Master of Science Degree in Human Resource Development both from Pittsburgh State University. Further, Omerikwa holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Economics from Kenyatta University.
Dr. Omerikwa is a member of the Institute of Human Resource Management, Institute of Directors and Kenya Institute of Management.
Hassan Ole Naado is the current National Chairman of the Supreme Council of Kenya Muslims (SUPKEM), a Chevening Fellow, an alumnus of the International Visitor Leadership Program (IVLP) under the Bureau of Education and Cultural Affairs of the Department of State of the USA. He is also a member of the Government of Kenya Interfaith COVID-19 Response and the Vaccine Steering Committee.
He has over 25 years’ experience in governance, prevention and countering violent extremism, national peace building and conflict resolution.
He holds a Post Graduate Diploma in Project Management; Diploma in Leadership and Islamic Governance – University of Birmingham, UK; Certificate in Peace Building and Conflict Management- MS International Training Centre- Arusha Tanzania; Islamic Civilization in the 21st Century, Al-Azhar University- Cairo, Egypt.
Fredrick Ngugi is a seasoned leader with a rich background in theology, counselling, and leadership. He holds a Master of Theological Studies in Christian Counseling and a Bachelor of Theological Studies from Vision International University, Ramona, California, USA. He also earned a Diploma in Theological Studies from Vision International University, Australia, and is currently pursuing a Doctor of Ministry (PhD) at Vision International University (VIU), UK.
Rev. Ngugi serves as an Overseer at the Redeemed Gospel Churches of Kenya and is the Resident Pastor of the Redeemed Gospel Church in Kawaida, Kiambu County. He holds prominent national leadership roles as the Chairman of the Association of Pentecostal and Evangelical Clergy of Kenya (APECK) and the National Chairman of PECK Housing Cooperative Society. Additionally, he is a Director at the National Authority for the Campaign Against Alcohol and Drug Abuse (NACADA).
Since 2017, Rev. Ngugi has been a part-time lecturer at Pan African University (PAC), where he teaches Transformational Leadership. He is also a Certified Professional Mediator (CPM) and an Accredited Supervisor, Psychologist, and Counselor with the Kenya Association of Professional Counsellors (KCPA).
Rev. Ngugi’s expertise in theology, leadership, and counselling underscores his dedication to service and his commitment to positively impacting his community and the nation.
Ali Swaleh is a consummate Public Relations professional and multi-linguist who has passion for education.
He is proficient in full business-unit management with a reputation for leading teams towards peak performance, driving realization of business targets with adept management of organizational diversity, while maintaining a firm focus on assured bottom line gains and distinguished company performance.
He is fluent in French and German, and has also worked in the hospitality industry in Kenya.
Hon. Lagat holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree, and Diploma in Adult Education both from the University of East Africa, Baraton.
He is a two-time Member of parliament having represented Emgwen and Chesumei constituencies respectively. During his tenure in Parliament he was the Vice Chairman, Labour and Social Welfare Committee, as well as the Chairman, Sports Sub-committee. He was similarly Vice Chairman of the Catering and Health Services Committee and Chairman of the Health Services Sub-committee.
He has served as the Deputy Human Resources Manager in Nandi County, a position he held for five years.
Winner of the 2000 Boston marathon, Hon Lagat is a talented athlete who represented the country in various sports activities across the world.
Ms. Beverly K. Opwora is the alternate to the Principal Secretary, of Internal Security and National Administration on 19th January 2023.
Currently, she is the Secretary, National Administration in the Ministry of Internal Security and National Administration
Ms. Opwora is an accomplished administrator who has her career in the defunct provincial administration, transiting to the national government administration under the current constitution.
Mrs. Okoth is the alternate to the Principal Secretary, the National Treasury on the board. She is an accomplished financial public economist currently serving in the National Treasury as the Director Public Private Partnerships.
She holds a Bachelor Degree in Economics from Moi University and a Masters in Economic Policy and Management Degree from Makerere University,Uganda.
Mrs. Okoth is a seasoned public servant with experience spurning for over fifteen years in Economic Planning in both County and National Governments. Notably, she has worked as the County Executive Committee Member for Economic Planning and Commerce in Transnzoia County, Director Economic and Macro Pillar of the Vision 2030 Delivery Secretariat and the Director National Assets and Liabilities Management of the National Treasury.
She brings wealth of hands on management skills on Public agencies boards having served in several others among them, Kenya Bureau of Standards, Kenya Promotion Export and Branding Agency(KEPROBA) and Lamu Port South Sudan Ethiopia Transport Authority where she sat in the same capacity.
Dr. Ephantus M. Maree is the alternate member of the Principal Secretary, Ministry of Health in the Board. Currently, he is the Senior Deputy Director Medical Services and a Technical Advisor to the Principal Secretary, Medical Services at the Ministry of Health. He is also a member of the Tobacco Control Board.
He is an accomplished Senior Medical Officer having worked in various field stations and a previous Board Member at the Kenya Medical Training College (KMTC). He has also served as the National Immunization Manager and a Head of the Non-Communicable Disease. Dr. Maree holds Master in Public Health(MPH) and a Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery (MBCHB).
Mrs. Florence Amoit is the alternate member of the Principal Secretary, Ministry of Education in the Board. Currently, she is the Secretary Administration, State Department for Basic Education at the Ministry of Education.
She is an accomplished Administrator whose career in the Civil Service spans over twenty-five years, fifteen of which has been at senior levels management. Florence joined the civil service at the entry level of District Officer (DO) in the Provincial Administration then, to the current position in the last eight years. She has worked at various stations in the field, at the State Department for Housing and Urban Development, State Department for Sports, State Law and now at the State Department of Basic Education.
Florence holds Master in Business Administration from the University of Nairobi, Bachelor of Arts from Kenyatta University and Advanced Pubic Administration Certification from the Kenya School of Government, Nairobi. In addition, she has undergone professional training in strategic leadership, change management and performance management.
Dr. Josephine S. Etenyi is the Alternate to the Principal Secretary, State Department for Youth Affairs and Creative Economy. She currently serves as the Director, Youth Development in charge of Policy, Research and Youth Mainstreaming.
A Productivity Improvement Specialist, she has previously served as a Human Resource Development Specialist on secondment to the Government of South Sudan under the IGAD Capacity Building Project. She holds a Doctorate in Research and Evaluation from the Catholic University of Eastern Africa. She also holds a Masters degree in Educational Planning and a Bachelors degree in Education, both from the University of Nairobi.
Mr. Laboso is the Director, Anti-Narcotics Unit (ANU) in the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) at the National Police Service (NPS).
He is an accomplished Senior Police Officer having worked in various field stations including the Teachers Service Commission (TSC), the General Service Unit (GSU), and the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI). He has also served as the Commander, Sensitive Investigation Unit at the Drug Enforcement Administration.
Dr. Mercy Karanja is the Deputy Director of Medical Services, and the National Focal Person for Substance Use Management at the Ministry of Health. She is also the Head of Clinical Services at the Mathari National Teaching and Referral Hospital. She represents the Kenya Medical Practitioners and Dentists Council.
Dr. Karanja is a Consultant Psychiatrist with over 10 years of progressive experience in the management of mental health and substance use disorders. She is also an experienced National Trainer in the field of addiction in collaboration with the Ministry of Health and the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC). She has participated in reviewing and developing several mental health and substance use management policies and documents in Kenya.
She holds a Masters of Medicine in Psychiatry (M. Med. Psychiatry) and a Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery (M.B.Ch.B) both from the University of Nairobi. In addition, she has extensive training in addiction management, cognitive behavioral therapy, medically assisted therapy, leadership, and management from international universities.
