NACADA Wins Big During the Annual Financial Reporting (FiRe) Award

 

March 26, 2021- The Authority has been awarded the 2nd Runners during this year’s Financial Reporting (FiRe) Award in the Semi-Autonomous Government Agencies (SAGAS) under the International Public Sector Accounting Standards (IPSAS). 

This award category seeks to promote and recognize excellence in financial reporting, sound corporate governance practices, and environmental reporting for both public and private sector entities in Kenya and within the larger East African region. 

Speaking after the award ceremony, NACADA Director of Corporate Services, CPA Patrick Obura, said that the award will add impetus to the Authority’s efforts to excel in financial reporting and corporate governance practices. “As an Authority, we have entrenched a culture of transparency, integrity, and accountability in compliance with appropriate financial reporting framework and other disclosures on governance”.   

The FiRe Award is presented annually by joint sponsors; the Capital Market Authority (CMA) Kenya, the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Kenya (ICPAK), the Nairobi Securities Exchange (NSA), and the Public Sector Accounting Standards Board- Kenya (PSASB).
