ADMINISTRATIVE AND CONTINGENCY MANAGEMENT PLAN TO MITIGATE COVID-19

In light of the evolving COVID-19 pandemic and the Presidential Directive for public entities, NACADA recognizes the critical need to protect members of staff as well as the public from infection and to prevent the spread of the virus.

In the implementation of the Presidential Directive and in ensuring continuous service delivery to the general public, the Authority will provide the following essential services for the next 30 (thirty) days:

  1. Counseling services on its 24-hour toll-free helpline number 1192 will only be available during weekdays from 8.00am to 5.00pm;
  2. Front office operations will be available from 8.00am to 5.00pm Monday to Fridays in its Headquarters and Regional Offices; and
  3. Outpatient services at the Miritini Treatment Centre in Mombasa will be available during weekdays from 8.00am to 5.00pm and on weekends from 8.00am to 12.00 noon.

In order to mitigate against infection, the Authority has ensured uninterrupted supply of hand sanitizers to all departments, units and regional offices in addition to hand-washing points for staff and visitors.

NACADA has forthwith suspended all group public advocacy and sensitization forums on alcohol and drug abuse. We will however carry out targeted public awareness campaigns through mass media to avoid the risk of contamination of staff and the public that may arise as a result of group contact.

We encourage members of the public to use our online and social media channels for any requests or clarification. We can be accessed through our official line 020 272 1997, email address info@nacada.go.ke, and website www.nacada.go.ke.
