May 30, 2022- Today marks a historic day as the National Authority for the Campaign Against Alcohol and Drug Abuse (NACADA) inked a Memorandum of Understanding with the Kenya Girl Guides Association (KGGA).
The signing of this partnership is a significant as it is an embodiment of the larger relationship between the Authority and KGGA. It is based on collective commitment to go beyond common to build programs through the universal language of securing the future generations.
“This partnership is an opportunity to address shared concerns, identify common interests and foster greater understanding and to develop capacity to address the issues of national concern such as substance use, health, environmental conversation, public education and advocacy and entrepreneurship,” Victor Okioma, Chief Executive Officer, NACADA.
Ms. Priscilla Gathiga, the National Executive Officer, Kenya Girl Guides Association who doubles up as NACADA Board member, was enthusiastic that the partnership will help bridge the gap on social skills and life skills on substance use prevention which is on the rise amongst school going children.
Both organisations look forward to the successful implementation of the MoU.
