Mount Kenya Foundation Effort to Curb Drugs and Alcohol abuse

November 26, 2022 - The Mount Kenya Foundation (MKF) led by Godfrey Njoroge and his team had a meeting with NACADA which aimed at deliberating areas of partnering with them in an operation of dealing with alcohol and drug abuse in the central and eastern parts of Kenya.

Speaking during the meeting, Mr. Godfrey Njoroge representing MKF called for the need to partner with NACADA in fighting alcohol and drug abuse issues in the Central region focusing on the youth who are mostly affected.
Mr. Victor Okioma, the NACADA CEO assured the Mt Kenya Foundation representatives that they will work together in the fight against alcohol and drug abuse. He also went ahead to highlight the help that the area chiefs and police officers can offer to ensure that the operation is going to be successful. He also commended them for their willingness to commence such an operation in the region.
One of the areas of collaboration Mount Kenya Foundation (MKF) proposed is the development of an anonymous platform for reporting cases of non-compliance to existing laws and policies.
