Since 2012, NACADA has held Annual Conferences with a view to provide a platform for stakeholders to share their experiences in addressing the enormous challenge of alcohol and drug abuse. This year, NACADA is partnering with the African Union and International Society of Substance Use Professionals (ISSUP) in undertaking the first ever International Conference on drug demand reduction in Africa.
The International Society of Substance Use Professionals (ISSUP) is an international platform of addiction professionals that provides opportunity for information and sharing on evidence-based treatment and prevention interventions as well as emerging issues in the management of persons affected with Substance Use Disorders.

Global Centre for Credentialing and Certification Examination
Professionals in the Drug Demand Reduction field who meet the criteria for Global Centre for Credentialing and Certification (GCCC) Examinations will have the opportunity to take one of the following exams at the Conference in Nairobi:
- International Certified Addiction Professional I (ICAP I)
- International Certified Addiction Professional II (ICAP II)
- International Certified Addiction Professional III (ICAP III)
- Recovery Coach Credentialing (RC)
