In fulfilment of its coordinative mandate, NACADA organises an annual National Conference with a view to provide partners with a platform to address drug related issues.
Unlike other conferences, the 2016 National Conference will focus on the United Nations Special Session on Drugs (UNGASS). The UNGASS will be held in April 2016, New York and the main objective will be to review the global implementation of the ‘Political Declaration and Plan of Action on International Cooperation towards an Integrated and Balanced Strategy to Counter the World Drug Problem’ that set goals to be achieved by 2019.
Towards enhancing international collaboration which is a key element in the global war on drug abuse, the year 2016 conference will be held in collaboration with the Open Society Foundation. This is a non-profit and grants organization with presence in over sixty countries around the world and works to shape public policy aimed at promoting democratic governance, human rights and economic, legal and social reform.
